ELTA Design has an immediate opening for a full time experienced licensed structural engineer. Responsibilities of this position include design and detailing of cold formed steel structures including non-load bearing curtain walls as well as load bearing applications. Candidate must have an overall strong technical background, robust experience in the design of hot rolled steel, and desire to learn about cold formed steel design and detailing. Successful candidate will have numerous and consistent opportunities to develop leadership skills and contribute to overall business management decisions if demonstrates the right attitude.
Desired Qualifications and Duties:
- A Bachelor of Science in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering
- PE License Required
- SE License by examination is a plus
- 5 to 10 years of experience in the structural design of buildings (Steel Design Experience is a must)
- Authorized to work in the US long term (No Visa Sponsorship)
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to lead projects with little to no supervision for the full project cycle
- Must be experienced in 2D and 3D drawing production in Revit
- Experience in FEM analysis and design software such as SAP is a plus
- Strong Technical background and ability to research and find solutions to unique technical challenges
- Experience or familiarity with the design and detailing of cold formed steel framing is a plus
- Produce complete CFS shop drawings and calculations
- Address all issues during the CA phase
- Participate in BIM coordination meetings as needed
- Assist in training and mentoring the junior staff
