Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role located in Richardson, TX. The Early Career Structural Engineer at ELTA Design Group will play a key role in supporting the design and detailing of cold-formed steel (CFS) framing systems for a variety of building projects. This position is ideal for a motivated engineer who recently graduated and is eager to build technical expertise in steel design, gain hands-on experience in CFS applications, and grow under direct mentorship from the principal engineer.
Responsibilities
· Assist in the design and detailing of cold-formed steel framing systems (load-bearing and non-load bearing).
· Produce structural calculations, shop drawings, and project documentation.
· Support project engineers through all phases of design and construction.
· Develop proficiency in Revit and participate in BIM coordination meetings.
· Research solutions to technical challenges and apply engineering judgment.
· Learn to lead projects with increasing independence as your experience grows.
Desired Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering.
· Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required; PE licensure track strongly encouraged.
· 0–3 years of structural engineering experience.
· Strong interest in steel design; coursework or exposure to CFS design is a plus.
· Proficiency with Revit; familiarity with FEM software (e.g., SAP, ETABS) is a plus.
· Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
· Authorized to work in the U.S. long term (no visa sponsorship).
